Dr. J Singh is a principal of Quantitecture where he helps clients improve the success rate of large software development projects. Dr. Singh has been associated with system performance for 20+ years, and was the Director of Software Development at Fidelity Investments. He managed a system performance group and created several successful new products.

Dr. Singh recently wrote an excellent succinct article on Trends in Load and Performance Testing In his post, Dr. Singh discusses some of the key obstacles of load testing: expense, specialized scripting languages, and simulating Internet traffic. He also talks about the importance of testing against a system that is as close to the production environment as possible.

He then mentions LoadStorm as an “encouraging trend” in context of using Amazon’s Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2).
